Eid al-Adha is the letter of the two official holidays in Islam, the other being Eid al-Fitr. Eid-ul-Fitr, which celebrates the completion of Ramadan’s Holy Month. Eid-ul-Adha, the larger Eid, occurs after the conclusion of the yearly Hajj pilgrimage, during the time of Qurbani (sacrifice). Eid in Arabic is a festival, celebration, feast day, or holiday. In Arabic, the festival is known as Eid-ul-Adha or Eid-ul-Kabir. The word (adha) and (qurbn) are synonyms for sacrifice’ (animal sacrifice), offering, or oblation.
Eid al-Adha 2023 will be celebrated on 28th June Wednesday 2023 or 29th June Thursday 2023 depending on the sighting of the Moon.
Eid al-Adha comes on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic lunar calendar and lasts four days. The dates of the world (Gregorian) calendar change from year to year, shifting around 11 days earlier each year.
At the mosque, people offer Eid al-Adha prayers. Eid prayers must be offered in public. It is divided into two rakats (units), the first of which has seven takbirs and the second of which has five takbirs. Most Muslims begin their Eid celebrations by doing additional prayers in the morning. Mosques are jam-packed with people, and outside seating arrangements have been built to accommodate huge crowds.

In Ayat 23 of Surah al-Maida, Allah states, “And place your full confidence [in Allah], if you are believers.”
This dependence, however, does not mean that we should not use our brains and make efforts to overcome our issues. We must try our best while believing that the result will be what Allah sees suitable.
One of the most difficult difficulties in Ibrahim’s life was obeying Allah’s instruction by sacrificing his beloved son. According to the new story, Ibrahim had dreams about sacrificing his kid Ismail son of Hajira. Ibrahim told his son, according to the Quran “Oh son, I keep dreaming that I am murdering you. Ismail said. “Father, I will follow the instructions given to you by Allah almighty. Ibrahim was ready to surrender to Allah’s will and slay his son as an act of faith and allegiance to Allah.

Acknowledging Ibrahim’s willingness to give up what was precious to him, Allah the Almighty praised both Ibrahim and Ismail. “O’ Ibrahim, you have fulfilled the instructions,” said Angel Jibril (Gabriel). Instead of Ismail, Angel Gabriel handed Prophet Ibrahim a lamb from heaven to sacrifice. Muslims throughout the world who observe Eid al Adha remember Ibrahim’s commitment as well as Ismail’s survival.
Qurbani is the act of sacrificing an animal as a sacrifice to commemorate this anniversary in honor of Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice for Allah. The sacrificed animals, known as adhiya (أضحية) also known as qurbni in Arabic. One-third of the share is kept by the family; another third is given to family members, friends, and neighbors; and the remaining third is given to the poor. Each ‘Eid is a Day of remembrance. The Muslims pray to Allah and glorify His name in an act of remembrance of His favors. In addition, people remember the departed by praying for their souls. They destitute a helping hand for poor and needy people.
Some Muslims will pay the worth of an animal to one of several Muslim organizations throughout the world that collect donations for remote animal sacrifices and distribute the meat to needy groups like orphans, the elderly, and the handicapped.
Thus, the Day’s significance transcends all limitations and touches all aspects of human life. One of the most important traditions associated with Eid al-Adha is assisting people in need. A sacrificial animal, such as a cow or goat, is made. The meat is subsequently provided to those in need. Not every Muslim does an animal sacrifice.
